World Sleep Day 2022

World Sleep Day 2022: "Quality Sleep, Sound Mind, Happy World."

To celebrate LondonCryo are launching our new sleep protocol and packages to help you get a better nights sleep, which leads to a sound mind as sleep affects mental health, mood, and decision-making and can help lead us into a happier world….in line with this years motto.

We know that one of the best feelings in the world is waking up from a wonderfully restful night of sleep —slowly opening your eyes, feeling the cool sheets and knowing that you, rested human being that you are, will have a productive and happy day.

Sadly, for most of us (1 in 3) that is a dream (no pun intended), we get too little sleep and what we do get is often not top quality. It’s not just that fuzzy, grumpy feeling and the downing of copious amounts of caffeine that’s the problem, lack of sleep has real consequences. According to the NHS, “Regular poor sleep puts you at risk of serious medical conditions, including obesity, heart disease and diabetes — and it shortens your life expectancy.” There’s also evidence of physiological effects: an increased risk of dementia, including Alzheimer's, and mood disorders like depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anxiety.

Most of us want to sleep more, but we just don’t, either due to stress, lifestyle, Netflix, or even the fact that your body gets conditioned not to sleep as much as it should.

Now imagine you could change that — but not with pills and medication (and no, wine doesn’t help either, it actually disturbs your sleep, even if it does make you feel sleepy).

Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) has been shown to improve sleep and lessen fatigue. Just like exercise has a positive impact on sleep patterns by releasing endorphins, so too does cryotherapy, in fact many of our clients gleefully tell us how much better they sleep since starting WBC.

The extreme cold of our CryoCabin™ sends a message to the brain telling the body to conserve all the heat in the core to protect the vital organs such as the heart. When you leave the chamber, the blood rushes back to the extremities infusing you with oxygen-rich blood and leaving you feeling refreshed. The good news is that the energy expended during the day translates into a restful sleep at night.

Why WBC helps promote a more restful sleep: •   Cryotherapy gives more energy during the day so you’re more active, thus more tired at night •   Since WBC takes helps to control pain and even prevent it, you are able to exercise more •   Both WBC and exercise release endorphins — which not only make you feel good, but also help with sleep •   Cryo just makes you feel good and when you feel good, you sleep better

See how you feel (and snooze). We recommend 12 sessions (2-3 times a week), After this, we recommend maintenance of 1-2 sessions per week. Dreamy.

Upgrade to include the new HBOT in St Johns Wood for £99

We already know that cryotherapy helps as the  extreme cold forces the blood to rush to the internal organs allowing them to be replenished with nutrients. After three very cold minutes, the body will be flowing with oxygen-rich blood, rejuvenating the skin, increasing energy levels, improving sleep quality, and relieving overall stress.

By adding the HBOT you will get in 400% more oxygen into the plasma.

HBOT encourages the body's oxygen radical scavengers to seek out the problem molecules and allow healing to continue. HBOT helps block the action of harmful bacteria and strengthens the body's immune system. HBOT can disable the toxins of certain bacteria. It also increases oxygen concentration in the tissues.

A recent study has shown that "Oxygen therapy could be used to enhance slow-wave states during sleep to ensure that individuals who may have disrupted sleep are getting enough of the restorative, slow-wave sleep," said Dickson.

Finally with a 25 minutes infrared sauna session… As it turns out, though, infrared therapy can help. Recent studies by the NIH have linked infrared therapy with improved sleep quality. It does this in a few ways. First, it calms and relaxes us, making it easier for us to fall asleep after a stressful day. Second, infrared therapy uses red light, which in turn causes your body to produce melatonin. The more melatonin your body creates before bed, the easier it will be to fall and stay asleep.
