Why we want you to make Red Light Therapy part of your wellness program at LondonCryo

Red light is essential for our energy system. Red light is absorbed by the cells (in the Mitochondria of our body and converted into energy (ATP: adenosine triphosphate). The increase in ATP in the cells makes the body better able to function optimally.

During a Red-Light session, the body is exposed to a combination of red light and infrared light for 10 minutes. This has an unprecedented number of effects including faster recovery from sports or surgery, reducing inflammation, improving circulation, improving processes at the cellular level, reducing pain symptoms, stimulating hair growth, improving fertility in men, and strengthening of the skin.

Light therapy is among one of the oldest applied restorative therapies. Solar therapy was described in Egyptian, Greek, Chinese and Indian antiquity.

Many studies and research show that our bodies need light to stay healthy.

As most of us live mostly indoors, and therefore have little contact with natural sunlight, deficiencies occur which in turn can have all kinds of adverse effects on our overall health such as depression, lethargy, fatigue, poor sleep, etc.

The light rays with specific wavelengths between 630 and 850 nanometres (nm) appear to be the most effective in supplementing these deficiencies. These wavelengths of light can penetrate deep into the cells and there optimize various cell functions including stimulation of collagen production. You could compare the process in the cells to photosynthesis in plants where the light absorbed by cells is converted into energy.

Now lets look at the effect of red light or photobiomodulation (PBM)

This is what happens when our bodies are exposed to red light:

The red light and near infrared light rays are absorbed at different levels in the cells of our body.

In the cells, the light is converted into energy or ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and thus acts as an energy bomb.

Subsequently, the cells can perform much better, all kinds of proteins are manufactured such as collagen and elastin and cell regeneration are stimulated. The oxygen level in the cells also increases.

Why combining RED Light with WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY is recommended for best results

If you combine red light and whole body cryotherapy, these sessions reinforce each other, so more energy, better sleep, faster recovery, more beautiful skin is the result. A cryotherapy session is also much more pleasant directly after a red-light session because you are warmed up to the core of your cells.

A usual session of red light therapy lasts 10 minutes and whole body cryotherapy is 3 minutes.

 Recommendation

Advice is to have 10-minute RED Light sessions 1-5 times a week. In combination with Whole Body Cryo, the effect of both treatments is enhanced, so this is recommended. First RED Light, followed by Cryo as the light is being absorbed within the Mitochondria and converted into ATP. This process stores the warmth of the light and the warmth that is being produced during the processing of the light into the cell membranes which will make a Cryo session easier and enhance thermal shock.

RED Light sessions work best if done regularly without a break of weeks or months. It really works on a cellular level so the effect cannot be expected within 3 times. Pain relief, glowing skin etc. you do often see and feel earlier.

Contradindications

In case of [skin] cancer, the client should consult whether they can use a RED-Light session with their doctor.
