Why we introduced electrolytes post infrared sauna and why our bodies need them
Whether you are coming in to LondonCryo straight after a killer workout sweat session or for an infrared sauna session, we want you to know how important it is to replace your electrolytes with beverages like coconut water and sports drinks. But what are electrolytes, exactly? And why do our bodies require them?
What are electrolytes?
Electrolytes are tiny charged particles found in our bodies that control how much water your body retains or excretes. Electrolytes are used by our nerve cells to assist the transportation of electrical impulses throughout the body. They are beneficial to your neurological system, mental health, and sleep quality. Electrolytes are necessary for muscular function because they provide signals to muscles that govern when they contract and relax. You may suffer muscular cramps and weaknesses if your electrolyte balance is off.
Essentially, your entire body need electrolytes to function properly.
Get your sweat on
During an infrared sauna session, electrolytes are deposited into out sweat glands followed by water, and as the glands fill up, they release the salty mix onto your skin. The water then evaporates, which makes you feel cooler – and you are left with that salty taste on your skin (don’t act like you don’t know what we mean).
We can lose too many electrolytes through perspiration, which can cause headaches, nausea, muscular pains, tiredness, or lack of vitality. To combat this, at LondonCryo we offer a liquid shot from Aguulp to support our clients after a sweat session in the Infrared Sauna. Electrolytes in liquid form can help your muscles and keep you hydrated while you continue with your day.
Aguulp explains…Why are we sold on liquids? Because nutrients can only reach cells through liquid solutions, which assimilate in just up to 4 minutes. Nutrients delivered through pills take 30 minutes to break down before the body can assimilate them. So why not deliver all nutrients through liquids? Sounds sensible to us.
This is why Aguulp uses only liquid formulas. They’re fast, targeted and potent. Bottoms up!
Aguulp’s Recovery sachets are an excellent choice for replacing electrolytes on a regular basis. Using liposomal technology, which delivers up to 98% nutrient absorption compared to pill-form vitamins, Aguulp focuses on releasing an energising blend of electrolytes and nutrients that help to revive and replenish, ensuring peak performance all day and every day.
